The Database Administrator Internship provides the ability of the resource filling this role to install, configure, and support multiple databases in an enterprise environment. The Intern will also learn and operate different backup methodologies, recovery scenarios, tune for better performance, create/modify shell scripts, and set up monitoring for multiple key performance indicators. This position is an entry-level position on the enterprise team responsible for managing and delivering database services to internal Steris customers.
This internship offers practical work experience and an introduction to technology platforms such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, and Snowflake databases and Oracle EBS, Siebel, Syteline, Cognos, PTC Windchill, and Tableau applications. This internship will involve challenging opportunities, include participation on project teams delivering capabilities that are critical to the business, and provide the Intern with the ability to build skills interacting with internal staff and across IT disciplines. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the information technologies field, while working for a company in a leadership position in the medical devices industry.
