SERVERS & COOKS
Prepares, delivers food trays to residents, assist with serving and cleanup of meals by performing the following duties.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Assists in the preparation of floor meal service and prepares food items such as snack trays and floor refrigerator refreshments.
Determines items to place on tray according to specified procedures.
Examines filled tray for completeness and places on cart.
Places items such as eating utensils, napkins, and condiments on trays.
Responsible for inventory prior to leaving kitchen.
Pushes carts to resident floor pantries prior to meals.
Responsible for cleaning up in dining room and pantry. Collects and stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchen.
Wash dishes and cleans work area, collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers.
Performs other specified cleaning duties in kitchen, dining rooms and kitchen equipment.
Assists with setting up of next meal.
Maintains a clean, sanitary workstation that is in compliance with departmental guidelines.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks as needed.
Attends in-service training classes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and understand dietary instructions and fluent in English language (both written and verbal). Fluency in English – both written and verbal; ability to read menus and tray tickets.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
SERVER
Serves meals to guests with the utmost regard to customer service and sanitary guidelines.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Sets assigned tables in dining room according to standard. Refill condiments as needed.
Receives guests into the dining room and assists guests to their tables.
Serves guests in dining room according to standards of customer service.
Clears guest tables in a dignified manner.
Washes all dishes and service-ware in the assigned manner.
Performs other cleaning duties as assigned in dining areas and kitchen.
Assists in setting, restocking, and breaking down breakfast buffet as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
