We are looking for an General Service Porter to support our Kodak Rochester Facilities (KRF) group
The Kodak Rochester Facilities (KRF) group is responsible for the management of buildings and site services, contract and supplier management, fire department, inspections and risk management, and several supporting operational services, and supports Eastman Business Park growth and strategic initiatives. JOB DESCRIPTION The Porter supports the Eastman Kodak Company and its tenants with the management of critical routine testing, with the management of docks and deliveries within most buildings, and by executing routine minor maintenance. The individual in this job performs a variety of activities designed to service, repair, maintain, and execute building and site related activities. This is the experienced level general service porter, which uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions without the immediate direction of supervision. This position performs a variety of customer related activities, ranging from maintenance repairs, dock management and inspects records and reports mandatory testing results.
JOB DUTIES Building Interior Maintenance and Dock Management
Light bulb and fluorescent tubes replacements. Public areas, office, labs, desktop, etc.
Proper waste management disposal methods Bulbs/Lamps - Replacement as needed and disposal per procedure. Clean up of broken tubes - as required, per procedure
Maintenance of bulb stock, & ordering of supplies through group leaders/zone admin as required
Replacement of light fixture ballasts (Kodak Office Site)
Building Repairs (i.e. loose handrails, hanging of blinds, hanging of bulletin boards, pictures, etc.).
Coordinate and execute office moves within the building, personal boxes, file cabinets.
Oversee building materials stockrooms, furniture warehouse, bulb storage, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, etc.
Replacement of Ceiling Tiles (non-asbestos) replaced as needed.
Minor furniture repair and/or maintained - i.e. castors replaced on chairs.
Restroom minor repairs (i.e. toilet seats, soap/paper dispensers/vents installation/replacement)
Physical movements of goods (primarily from the receiving dock to staging areas and possibly direct to clients). Handling and shipping of palletized boxes for tenants to be shipped to other buildings
Performing inventory transactions on inbound goods and ensure timeliness of all inbound receipts daily
Operate forklift trucks and/or hand pallet trucks to load, unload and transport parts and equipment
Movement of pallets to marshalling area, label materials, call out for trucking removal, (i.e. Disposal of paper), transparencies, toner, wood, metal, silver recovery, glass, etc.
Mail/package sorting and delivery (i.e. small packages, some cases pallets) - daily in all buildings.
Management of recycle stations and accumulation areas, move recycle- containers to Loading Docks.
Transport w/work order requests are accomplished for Non-Hazardous-Waste to Dock/Marshalling Area
Maintenance of Site, common conference rooms, includes periodic checks of all site-owned conference room supplies (i.e. easels, markers, paper, etc.) maintenance and refill.
Set-up’s (for conference rooms/gym etc.). Restoration of conference room/gym to standard set-up after event
Posters/Signs (maintenance of bulletin boards/elevators) Large posters/easels
Emergency Clean-up (water, etc.).
Building Exterior Bldg. Maintenance
Policing and cleaning up of lobby areas-all KRF and identified non-KRF managed buildings - seasonally
Maintenance of Dock Platforms and Bays as necessary
Compactor LO/TO, cleanout around compactor
Inspection of Bay Drains/clean when necessary
The cleaning out of debris/trash from around & under dock bays.
Call Trucking for all outgoing pick-ups.
Snow removal during site emergencies, for building entrances (pushing open doors for clearance).
Building central vacuum systems - emptying/replacement of bins
Provision of barrels/gondolas/for tenants to separate items for cleanouts/investment recovery
Miscellaneous Critical Responsibilities
Supply Monthly Activity Reports, for equipment inspections, tracking and reporting of equipment performance
Fire Extinguishers inspected monthly, manage annual and 5-year hydro testing
Fire Extinguisher and Emergency/Exit Light inspection and records provided monthly for all sites.
Provide support for the Kodak Rochester emergency and exit lighting program (monthly inspections and identified repair needs by Porter. Repair and installation via electrician as appropriate.)
Inspect and record monthly / annual inverter testing.
Collection and safeguarding of confidential/proprietary materials until picked up for shredding
Perform monthly and annual compliance inspections on battery back-up invertors in the following buildings: B- 28, 326, 349 at Eastman Business Park
Perform monthly 30-second inverter test. Record failures. Engage electrician, as needed per repair.
Eye Bath & Emergency Shower are inspected and tested (KRF managed buildings only) in common areas only (i.e. B-59)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electrical lighting fixtures, restroom fixtures, and repair of furniture, etc.
Knowledge of safety issues and personal limitations in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of electrical lighting fixtures
Skill in the use of scissor lifts, fork trucks, stackers, pallet jack, and ladders required.
Personal attributes
Excellent customer service skills required, daily interface with both internal Kodak and external tenant needs.
Understands concepts of lean manufacturing to drive improvement in day-to-day work.

Physical Requirements Regularly lift and or move up to 25lbs/12kg. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg. Regularly required to stand; walk; sit, bend, and talk or hear. Heights; work on a step ladder or extended man lifts. Work may require employee to be exposed to inclement weather conditions. Some Repetitive work: use of hand tools
Education Required High School diploma or GED Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Equivalent experience in a related field in an industrial/manufacturing environment is a “plus”. Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications Possess the necessary skill, licenses or certifications required to operate a forklift as well as other material handling equipment would be an asset. Valid NYS Driver’s License is required.
