Job Description:
Position Description:The Mechanical/Drawing Engineer is responsible for managing the Kodak Drawing Center, to include supporting users with drawing needs to prepare for execution of building and process equipment projects. This position will also apply mechanical and technical capability to a variety of building-related projects, generally focused on building infrastructure, energy savings, facilities repair and improvement.
Mechanical Engineer (40%)
- Working with Lead Facilities Engineer, provides support to energy savings projects focused on achieving savings to Kodak
- May be requested to investigate energy savings programs available to Kodak, for example NYSERDA or other local, State or Federal incentives, in an effort to optimize savings for Kodak.
- Leads technical projects involving Kodak or tenant requirements, evaluating needs, scoping project and providing project cost estimates
• Identify and establish working relationships with internal Kodak operational representatives, and gain knowledge and familiarity with business functions in order to enhance contribution
- Learning and understanding of RED utilities operation in order to more effectively contribute to Kodak opportunities for efficiency and savings
• Effectively develop scopes of work for projects, along with the economic impacts, for review with Lead Engineer
- Recommends best methods for measurement and verification of system performance
• Analyzes data output for trends and/or any deviations that need further investigating
• Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.
- Participates in or schedules meetings to ensure information gathering or sharing occurs in order to rapidly make progress on projects underway
Drawing Administrator (60%)
- Lead responsibility for Kodak’s Drawing System (Team Center), maintaining accurate CAD floor plans for all owned buildings in Kodak-Rochester locations
- Working with Supervisor, investigate Team Center replacement system options to strategically support future site and other requirements
- Create and update AutoCad drawings, to include polyline revisions to show accurate space information for Kodak groups and outside companies working inside Kodak buildings
- Provide drawing specifications and standards to outside drawing suppliers.
- Ensure outside drawing suppliers follow Kodak drawing procedures and completing necessary paperwork, and ensure that drawings are returned and entered into system at project completion
- Create and modify Teamcenter accounts for new Kodak employees needing access.
- Provide training to new Kodak employees and external suppliers on how to use the web version of the Kodak drawing management systems
- Work closely with the space planner to provide accurate space information for all Kodak-Rochester buildings using Archibus Facilities Management System
- Manage Kodak buildings structural calculation files
- Assist IT with maintaining internal Kodak website KMAPS to provide accurate building abstract, building floor plans and EBP / KO site maps.
- Locate and create drawings and maps to support building managers, construction managers, Kodak fire department, inspections, risk management, site logistics team and buildings and grounds team for emergency situations, construction projects.
- Create and maintain maps/drawings for HSE compliance.
- Create drawings and maps to assist corporate real estate with the sale of buildings and property. Identify and transfer drawings and other relevant information for Kodak divestitures, building and property sales to buyers
- Revise drawings from the Kodak drawing management system when appropriate.
- Maintain master Eastman Business Park map by incorporating outside contractor drawings, updated survey maps and New York state GIS information.
- Maintain Kodak tax parcel drawings.
- Provide answers to Kodak property information such as street address, building and property ownership and responsibilities.
- Provide leadership to manufacturing departments in maintaining production and equipment drawing integrity within the Kodak drawing management system.
- Participate in site improvement meetings and projects.
- Assign new drawing numbers for projects using the Kodak drawing number system.
- Work with IT to maintain and solve Teamcenter access issues to Kodak employees and outside drawing suppliers
- Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing solutions to resolve them.
Education Required
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
2-3 years plus equivalent experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, proven mastery in AutoCad & other drawing software packages, building utilities expertise and broad knowledge of skilled trades
