Gift Shop Manager

Alexandria, VA 22350Come be part of our amazing retail team as a full time Gift Shop Manager. This individual will work primarily in our Alexandria Hospital Monday - Friday days. There could be a potential for the occasional evening or weekend and possibly traveling to our Fairfax Hospital.
As a Gift Shop Manager, you will develop and implement guidelines for the delivery of Gift Shop services to obtain optimum customer service and Gift Shop profitability. To help achieve our mission, you will direct the daily operations of the Gift Shop while enhancing customer service, developing team members and optimizing profit margins. Identifying critical skills required of Gift Shop personnel, developing competencies necessary to ensure compliance and training personnel is of vital importance. Managing and accounting for all funds generated in compliance with identified system standards while ensuring prompt payment of all invoices is expected. Supervising the Gift Shop workforce on a daily basis is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures effective use of all resources, determines priorities and provides necessary guidance/direction for the provision of Gift Shop services.
- Revises/updates Gift Shop policies/procedures to ensure the consistent daily performance for the delivery of optimum customer service.
- Works in conjunction with the supervisor to determine store layout and ensure an attractive, efficient and safe retail environment.
- Implements training programs to ensure that all staff are trained in all procedures and competent to perform assigned duties.
- Establishes/implements procedures for handling funds by all Gift Shop personnel, in consultation with supervisor, to ensure all financial standards are consistently met.
- Analyzes work assignments to ascertain impact on available resources, schedules and Gift Shop personnel to ensure continuous service during hours of operation.
- Develops/implements volunteer recognition programs and techniques to build morale/satisfaction for Gift Shop personnel and to motivate volunteer support.
- Ensures that daily reconciliation of financial transactions are made, segregated and that funds are properly deposited in accordance with established procedures.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of an Associates' Degree
- Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- A knowledge of basic technology and computer skills is also needed
- This individual must possess strong organizational skills
