Role Overview
The Director, Talent & Organization Effectiveness works closely with the Human Resources Business Partners to create, implement, assess and reimagine all Inova talent and organizational effectiveness initiatives. This leader will help to ignite the organization through key talent programs including performance management, talent review, leadership competency modeling, career pathing, succession planning. This role will in equal measures lead and consult across the Inova system, building strong relationship with senior leaders to maximize impact; bring practical, simple and impactful solutions for high-leverage talent programs; and adapt and flex to the changing needs of Inova’s dynamic environment.
Inova Health System is based in Fairfax, Virginia. This is a hybrid or full-time remote position. The preferred candidate will be within commuting distance to Fairfax, Virginia.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads the ideation and design of critical talent-related programs for Inova – talent review, succession planning, competency modeling, and coaching, with a programmatic. Focus on success metrics and communication tools.
- Monitors and continually improve the effectiveness of existing talent programs to ensure overall impact and value.
- Establishes, tracks and reports metrics to measure organizational impact based on established goals and timelines.
- Works with the HR Business Partners, maintains updated knowledge relative to the progress of individual development plans for key seat successors, high performing, and high potential team members.
- Conducts team and individual assessments to provide data-driven consultation on interventions that will close gaps from current to desired future state.
- Facilitates formal and informal leadership meetings related to HR initiatives which may include competency models, talent reviews, and mentoring.
- Contributes to Learning & Development (L&D) efforts to design, implement, execute, and analyze all leadership development programs.
- Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree required.
- At least 10 years of experience working in advisory/coaching capacity with executive leadership.
- Expertise in current talent and Organizational Effectiveness (OE) theories, practices, designs, and change management approaches.
- Proven success in building and leading programs across a large-scale system.
- Deep knowledge of measurement/assessment methods, talent management, career development, and coaching best practices.
- Strong facilitation, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate well with all levels within the organization.
- Customer focused, proactive, and results oriented.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement/project management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
