SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Community Relations at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center serves as a point of entry into the organization as an information and resource hub that centralizes and standardizes the way we connect to the community.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
·Program
Coordinate with leadership and internal departments to move strategic initiatives and meet established objectives around community engagement, community health and health promotion. Foster positive relationships among internal and external stakeholders and team in the areas to promote child health through community partnerships and employee engagement. May serve as the office-based contact person for the medical center's involvement with external community organizations and internal medical center units focused on quality improvement workforce development or pipeline programs. May assist with proposals and ongoing communications which address career exploration, employee development or systems transformation. Provides support & coordination including database development, data entry, reporting and fiscal management/tracking.

Knowledge of community engagement principles (best practices and effective strategies for collaboration with internal and community partners). May provide support for community education and health promotion. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and successfully with community organizations. Support strategic partnerships with community organizations, residents /patients and stakeholders that share a common mission with CCHMC. Support and attend CCHMC sponsored events as related to roles and goals.

Prepare employee volunteers or community stakeholders through structured presentations and unstructured interactions for resolving questions. May facilitate employee knowledge of department and enterprise objectives by documenting regularly scheduled meetings and preparing appropriate reports. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills w/ the ability to provide and receive information from both internal and external audiences. Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Powerpoint and Excel. Complete other training as required or needed to advance professional development skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
·Living in Central Ohio region. Position is remote, but may require travel to Cincinnati a few times per year for team meetings and events
*Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as human services, social work, or equivalent
Preferred:
· 0 - 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred:
*Knowledge of Ohio health insurance, wavers, Medicaid, and private health insurance
*Bi-lingual English/Spanish
*Trained in Charting the LifeCourse framework and tools
*Trained/educated in trauma-informed care and/or conflict resolution/mediation
*Effective systems navigation and family support skills
*Passion for the work; reliable, trustworthy, confidential, self-motivated, independent in their work but also interested in working within a team
*Highly professional in their approaches with families, colleagues, educators, healthcare, and community
*Interest in policy and advocacy work on the state level
Unique Skills:
·Competency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel; Project Management and Presentation Skills
